Motto And Crest
Members of the School Board, assisted by Iris Rossen, met to decide on a Crest and Motto, and this was ratified by the Interim Board in February 1989.
The Crest reflects the writings of St Luke – the Gospel of Luke and the Acts of the apostles. The Gospel deals with the Life of Jesus and ends with the command to bring his word to the ends of the earth. The Acts is an account of the Church carrying out this mission. The arrow going out from the centre depicts this mission.
The Motto is also a powerful theme of writings of St Luke.
“A people ever made New by the Death and Resurrection of Jesus, and prepared to bring this Good News – at any cost – to the ends of the earth.”
